Jean-Jacques Perry & Dana Countryman present ‘The Happy Electropop Music Machine!’
If you like to smile then you owe it to yourself to pick up the new album, ‘The Happy Electropop Music Machine’, a collaboration between Jean-Jacques Perrey (master of the Ondioline and composer/tape editor extraordinaire) and Dana Countryman (former editor of the sorely missed Cool and Strange Music Magazine and modular synthesizer wiz). This collection of fun melodic synth tunes features mostly Perrey-Countryman original compositions that are guaranteed to put a smile on your face and a spring in your step. In addition to the formidable talents of Messrs. Perrey and Countryman, the album boasts some excellent drum work from Rick Bowen, and guest contributions from Robert Drasnin (sax), Vinnie Bell (banjo), Dick Hyman (calliope), and a tasty remix by The Bran Flakes. Order the CD here and be sure to check out this collection of videos from their recent concert tour as well.

I saw this duo perform live in Holllywood recently – what a thrill to see Jean-Jacques Perrey (who pronounces his last name “pair-RAY”) live and in person. This album is filled with “fun” music that is lively and whimsical and features a wide array of odd electronic sounds.

Could you upload some of his earlier albums? I would just love to hear them!

I have admired JJP since my early teens and was very surprised and pleased to learn of this new album. I bought an autographed copy!
The CD was placed in my car stereo (and copied onto my desktop PC) and I have listened to it over and over and over and over again!!
I LOVE IT!
I also had the good fortune of communicating with JJP via email. For me, being a life long fan (over 40 years now!) that email exchange was the realization of a life long dream – to finally have the chance to tell him how much I enjoy the wonderful music he creates.
If you are not familiar with his work, here are a few titles to look for:
The In Sound From Way Out (The one that started it all.)
Kaliedoscopic Vibrations (Also called Spotlight On The Moog)
Moog Indigo
There are a few others as well and you won’t be dissapointed with any of them so get googling and find them to add to your music library!!
