Album Share: Idalgo Ferri – Folclore Italiano Con L’Ocarina

ocarina.jpgWe implore you to witness the spectacle of Idalgo Ferri kicking the ass of an ocarina. Specifically the ‘Italian’ type of ocarina described here (this article is also contains the only web reference to Mr. Ferri we were able to find). The recording features a variety of light music that showcases Mr. Ferri’s virtuosity on the instrument. He is accompanied by a modest group consisting of piano, electric bass, and drums, who lay down a simple but rock solid foundation. Occasionally a concertina is brought in to share melodic duties. Highlights on the album include the Brazilian rhythms of ‘Tico Tico’, Mozart’s ‘Alla Turca’ set to a polka-like beat, and the frantic ‘L’Allodola’ which opens side one. As the fractured English liner notes so eloquently state, “All praise for Professor Idalgo Ferri for his excellent performance concerning this special long player!” Have fun listening and as always, Enjoy!

    Dear Sir,

You can imagine my surprise when I noticed my dear father on your site.
Today, 15/05/07, it is exactly 2 years ago that we sprikled his ashes over the Italian Sea, his homeland.

Now I’m wondering, how is it possible that his record came into your possesion? Did you meat him? Did you ever buy it from him? I’m curious to know the history since my father, is a very talented man and a great artist.

    Please reply,
    Sincerely,
    Tiziana
